Double Whammy

Every year, our wedding anniversary lands right around the corner from Father's Day. It's not something either of us thought about when we picked the date, but now it's like a double whammy for Ryan every year when I celebrate what a great husband he is AND what a great father he is consecutively. If I were a guy I'd probably get one gift for both things (hehe) but I try really hard to seperate the two. So here we are Friday night on our anniversary...
6 years together isn't exactly monumental so we didn't do anything big. One of these days we'd like to redo our honeymoon since we didn't really get one, but for now we just went out to dinner. We went to Sardines, apparently dubbed the "most romantic" restaurant in Fort Worth. I haven't been there since high school and the location has changed since then, but it was pretty cool - nice lighting, a live jazz band, and way good Italian food.
On to Ry's fun filled Father's day weekend! It started off with some daddy/daughter time at the primary activty day. Then we headed down to C-town where Kaydree and Carver took their dad to see a movie. Toy Story 3 was sold out, so they saw Shrek instead. Saturday evening, they walked down to the creek with Uncle Jepprey (as Carv calls him), Uncle Nathan, and Efy Tom for some fishin'. I guess it's true what they say, the longer you're married the more your personalities mesh...Ryan documented the whole weekend on his blackberry by taking pictures every step of the way (i wonder where he gets that from). So here's a view from his perspective...

We went to Cleburne for the weekend to be there for the blessing of Nikki and Nathan's baby - Linkin Nathan Abraham. It was fun to get together with everyone...

So there you have it, a super spoiled weekend for a super special guy. Here's where I could go into all the reasons Ryan is such an amazing husband and father, but since I'm not really into the mushy gushy stuff, I'll just leave it at this: we think he's pretty great...I guess we'll have to keep him.
