Just January

I should start this off by admitting that I've been a major SLACKER in the blogging department lately. It is only appropriate to follow that admission with several excuses that I have compiled for said slacking: #1 - our computer crashed, #2 - our computer came back to life but was working very slowly and randomly shutting off without warning, #3 - our computer crashed again!, #4 - our computer DIED...for good. I would say "may it rest and peace" or "it served us well" or even "at least we got some good years out of it" but none of these things are true. We had just bought the computer brand new a little over a year ago...it lasted just enough time to NOT be covered by it's warranty anymore, and according to the 2 different guys that we took it to, the motherboard was done for. What a hunk of a junk (an HP in case you are in the market and looking for what NOT to buy)! So we finally gave in and got a beautiful new MAC, which is great don't get me wrong, but it brings me to my 5th and final excuse #5 - I am totally adjusting to everything apple. It's not super confusing or anything, I've just had to reorganize all my pictures and figure out all these new programs I've never used before. Anyway, here's hoping this computer lasts! And here's to my re-entry into the blogging world by covering all things January. Starting with...
New Year's Eve
It started at the delicious Twisted Root Burger with Nathan, Nicole, and Chris and it ended with me on the couch crashed out way before midnight (I'm so old)...
At least Caitlin and Nicole had fun (Caitlin babysat for all)...
Next we went to the Fort Worth Stock Yards parade downtown with Stephen, Afton, and kids. Check out that banner...
Amen! Here's cute Kaydree who insisted on wearing her cowgirl gear...
Brooksie and Carver enjoying some Texas BBQ at Riskys...
Watching the many MANY horses passing by (it was mostly horses) and a little bit chilly to boot...
The twinners were a show stopper as usual in their bright pink stroller. Some of the horsies had to stop and check 'em out...
The crew (minus Afton)...
Looking back at these pictures now, I'm sure glad the wet, rainy, and cold (even if only mildy cold) weather is over with. January is always a little anticlimactic since it follows all the busyness of the Christmas season, but we still managed to have a good time.
