First of all, let me just take a moment to vent about how annoying blogger is. Apparently I have reached my max capacity for photo storage, so I can't upload any more photos unless I pay a monthly fee. I have seen this happen on other blogs before, and usually the person just starts a new blog. I thought there must be some way around it, but I was wrong. Not only do I have to create a whole new blog, but I have to create a whole new email address and new profile for said blog. Time consuming. Annoying. So eventually, I will get in gear and get a new blog up and running. I will probably move all of our Netherlands stuff over to the new blog and keep this one of just our years in Texas. That way, I can maybe catch up on all the months that I missed. Or not. We'll see.
For now, here's the latest on our quick trip to Bruges and Ghent, Belgium. Bruges is just a quick 2 hour drive away, and Ryan has been working a lot in Ghent lately (which is only 30 minutes from Bruges). Kaydree had the day off on Friday, so Ry took off too and we spent Friday in Bruges and Saturday in Ghent. To make things even better, they have a small Christmas market in the main square in Bruges going on right now…just in time for us!
So here's the slideshow of our trip. I would post more pics with details BUT…you know.
*Update - here are my favorites from Bruges & Ghent since I am now allowed to post pictures…
Bruges
Hint: Although it might be tempting, DO NOT climb that bell tower with your small children. The view is good, but not THAT good.
These frites were excellent, and I am not normally a fan of french fries… er, I mean Belgian Frites. I heard they double fry them. Whatever the secret, they know what they're doing!
Ryan's favorite indulgence of the day
The view from the Bell Tower
The Christmas shops enticed even the least interested shopper among us!
Picture Perfect
Dreamy
Never a boring canal
Our first look at a real Michelangelo
Dumont Chocolate - worth every calorie!
The square at night
Ghent
Graffitistraat
Never a boring picture with this guy
The Castle
View from the top - can you spot the Belgian flag?
Love this one of the back, not yet renovated
Warn out and ready to head home
It was an exhausting couple of days, but wandering around these 2 cities was definitely memorable.
I'm having the same storage problem! Frustrating, isn't it? Eric is a member of our blog "team" so I've been using his account to post on. I'm probably going to print out the first few years of my blog to a hardbound book and then delete them from the blog (inc. photos) so I get that storage space back. Good luck! I love seeing the photos and videos of your travels!! I just get really jealous. :)
Here's a tip a friend passed on to me: you don't need to start a new blog. Just create a new google account and add it to your blog as another author (the way Robyn did with Eric). Then you can use your new google account to post and won't have to delete any of your old posts. :)
Sorry for my lack of commenting. I do try to check in every so often.

Case in point--this is Robyn, not Eric!

Thanks for the tips…I will definitely try to sort this out. So great to hear from my Ohio friends. Go Buckeyes!
