When Grandma, Grandpa, Spencer, & Nikki came into town, we geared up for a whirlwind trip through Germany & Austria. We hit up some past favorites and added a few new stops along the way. It was an amazing trip through Bavaria, starting with...
Oberammergau
| Trying to order a very traditional meal. Some of us got lucky, others did not. |
| Grandma is a sucker for all the great souvenirs that the kids always want, but we never ever buy. |
Schwangau
| These castles are always a hit! |
| We were able to split up our tours and send a kid or two with each group of adults. It worked out really well. |
| We didn't make it into Hohenschwangau this time, but we did a lot of walking around the outside. |
Salzburg
| Mirabell Gardens |
| The Sound of Music bike tour was a must for our group of musical lovers. |
| This trailer bike was a pretty good setup for both Spencer and Carver. |
| Typical bipolar twinners |
| K did a great job biking all 8 miles by herself. She was an inspiration and a great cheerleader for Grandma! |
| It got pretty hot and sweaty right around this part of the tour, but we were well rewarded with so many cool photo ops. |
| We headed up to the fortress on Day 2. |
| The views from up here are amazing. |
| Baby on Board |
| This is how we all felt when the restaurant we were hoping for wasn't even open yet. |
| Luckily, it was nothing that a little authentic apple strudel couldn't fix! |
Munich
| We timed it out just right so we could see the infamous Glockenspiel in action at Marienplatz. |
| We also did a bit of marketing. |
| We took a rushed tour of Munich's Residenz |
| We also took cover from the pouring rain by doing even more shopping. |
Home at last...
| ...and plenty of time to hang out and play games with Grandma. |
Thanks for another fun trip, Anderson's. Till we meet again in March!
