The babies are here! If you are not one for gory details, go ahead and scroll on down to the pictures...reader discretion is advised (Uncle Kenny: this means you). We went in at 6am to the hospital on Tuesday for my induction. I had gone into my Dr.'s office the day before and the ultrasound showed that the babies were ready and their placenta was showing signs of wearing down, so it was time. And at 38 weeks, 4cm dilated, and 90% effaced, I didn't mind a bit. By 7:30am, my nurse had started an IV of pitocin and I got my epidural shortly thereafter. At about 10:00am I felt like I was ready to push. They let me labor in a regular room, but moved me to the Operating Room for delivery, just in case they should need to do an emergency C-section. Being in the O.R. is so weird versus a regular room: the walls are tiled, they make you lay on this tiny little cot instead of a bed, and there are supplies and stuff everywhere. They wheeled me back there by myself with about 5 nurses. Pretty soon, the room started filling up with people, but no one that I recognized. Before I knew it, there were like 20 people in the room just staring at me. Finally, in comes Ryan, my mom, and my doctor and I was ready to go. The first baby came about 5 minutes later at 10:17am. They were cleaning her up and I was just focused on the next baby. I was so worried that she would turn or something would go wrong and I would need a C-section. I started pushing the second baby, but she was so high up that it felt like nothing was happening. Then my doctor pressed down on the outside of my stomach up where the baby's feet were, and she just came right out (at about 10:23am). I was so relieved to be done with the whole thing, and I still can't believe I have two little babies at one time. It was all so exciting and they are just so perfect and beautiful!

Congrats you guys...they are beautiful babies and Uncle TJ and Aunt Ansley are so excited to meet them. 4 kids...wow! You guys will be busy, and need Aunt Ansley to fly down and visit a lot. Love you guys. Let the fun begin!!!
They are perfect Carrie, congratulations!! When do you guys find out if they are identical or not? I can't believe how big they were. Lyla was 7lbs 5oz and I felt huge. Now I can imagine how uncomfortable you must of been even though you still looked incredible in the pictures on your moms facebook. You didn't look like someone who was about to push out 2 babies. Congrats again! I can't wait to see more pics.
oh Carrie, they are so beautiful and cute...congratulations!
Congratulations! They are gorgeous!! We've been thinking about you and praying for you and checking your blog... I am SO glad everything went well. You are supermom already! Please Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help you!
They are beautiful!!! Congratulations!!
Conrats!! They are sooo adorable, I can't believe you have twins, how awesome (and exausting) is that?!?! I am glad everything went smoothly and I was expecting the details to be much more gory than they were!!
Carrie, I have been dying to hear how your labor went! I was so excited for you when I heard you didn't have to have a c-section! That is so great! Oh my gosh they are so big! You did not look like you were caring around that much baby by your pictures. Although I am sure that you felt like you were. They are gorgeous and I am so excited for you that you can now enjoy them and the stress of getting them here safe and sound is over. Congratulations! Tricia
Congrats!! They are SO cute! I was so happy (and a little envious!) to read about your quick and safe delivery. I am sure it feels great to have your body back to yourself again! I hope you can get some rest and enjoy loving your little princesses!
congratulations! I'm glad everything went well and you didn't have to have an emergency C-section. The babies are beautiful! I love the names.
Congratulations on your beautiful little girls! I've been checking your blog often to see if there was an update about the babies. I'm so glad your labor and delivery went smoothly! And, I love the names. Elsie was my great-grandma's name...she was Elsie Electa and that's how I got my middle name. I can't believe how big they were. You looked so great for having two good-sized babies in there! Good luck with everything! I'm so happy for you guys!
"Gory" details?! That seemed like CAKE! :) I'm SO glad it went well for you, Carrie, and that it was so fast! I can't believe how big they both are!! Way to keep them growing where they needed to before arriving. They are so beautiful, and I love their names! CONGRATS, CONGRATS!!!
Thank you again for the beautiful grandaughters, we love them and all of you. Thank you Carrie for the rough, long time you had of it. They are very beautiful and so healthy. Thanks to Ryan too, you get to provide for your little no big family. Way to go...
Congratulations, Carrie! It sounds like everything went so well and incredibly FAST! I love the names you picked and think they are both adorable little girls! I am so glad they're finally here!
They are such a pretty color, and look at that hair. Love the pouty lips.
You are so awesome Carrie. I need your tips, you seem so calm about the whole thing. Those girls are going to be so fun, a lot of work too, but if anyone can handle it it's you.
I can't wait to meet them!!! They are gorgeous girls!!!
Ryan must be such a proud daddy. What a lucky guy to have 4 beautiful girls in his life!!
Wow! Congratulations! They are beautiful! I am so happy for you and so glad everything went well with no C-section. I wish you the best of luck with two newborns these next few couple. Take care and congrats again.
Wow! I can't believe they both made it head down without a c-section. I guess you had been through enough, and didn't deserve a c-section on top of everything. They are so beautiful!! I hope you are doing well. Congrats to the whole family!!
So stinkin cute! You looked so good Cousin, I am serious I am not just saying it. You amaze me! You are now my inspiration!
