To Infinity & Beyond!

One evening last week Carver insisted on wearing his Buzz Lightyear PJs to bed. Despite the smoking hot temperatures, I let him sport his long sleeve flannel jammies thinking at least we were inside in the AC and things are a little cooler at night. The next morning after we came home from the pool, Carver ran straight into his room to put on his Buzz PJs. I had just been warned on the radio about this massive heat wave: record breaking temperatures around 105 (feels like 112 with the humidity), kids, pets, and elderly are especially at risk (I love how they put kids, pets, and elderly all in the same category by the way), you know the basic weatherman-panic rhetoric. So to keep my little superhero happy and Child Protective Services at bay, I rolled up the sleeves as far as they would go, cuffed the pants, and Carv was on his way. We've got to get this kid a Buzz tank top or something...

The madness didn't stop there. He wore the PJs to bed again that night and luckily the next morning I convinced him to wear something else. Just when I thought I was in the clear, in comes Carver with the PJs that he dug out of the laundry (which by this time totally REEK) and he's begging me to the wear them again. I tried to explain to him about washing our clothes, blah blah blah, but he didn't buy it. So I compromised with him and let him wear the Buzz shirt with the shorts he had on. I took him with me to pick up a pizza that night, and some lady looked at me like I was totally nuts. I just wanted to say, "What, haven't you ever seen a superhero before?"

That same day, my other little superhero suprised me by taking about 5 steps in a row all on her own! Elsie is finally getting it... And when Elsie starts something Ava is never far behind...
I tried to capture what I could on video...

To Infinity...& Beyond!

I hear you on the heat. I don't think east Dallas was much different from Ft. Worth. I finally just cut gracie's pjs into shorts and short sleeve shirts. I figured she only wears them at nights when no one sees her. Good luck beating the heat!

Carv, Carv, Carv. We love, love, love you. I feel a special bond with little Carv. I don't know why, maybe b/c he reminds me so much of my little "a-tom". I'm so happy you have a little guy so both of our little guys can have each other growing up. They can be "the boys" even though they're cousins, but who cares right?
Love you Carver James
