Kindergarten for K

Kaydree started Kindergarten today at Clara Love Elementary, the school at the front of our neighborhood about 1 1/2 miles away.  She was looking super snazzy in her back to school clothes that she helped pick out...
Here she is in front of the classroom, just beaming and ready for school.  She was so excited and felt so grown up.
There is K next to her Hello Kitty lunchbox, already busy coloring.  There's her teacher, Kim Farrow, a really warm and friendly lady…everything you'd want in a kindergarten teacher.

I was surprised by how emotional I was when saying goodbye.  We've both been ready for this for a while since Kaydree has a September birthday and was super ready for school last year.  But it still sort of felt like the beginning of the end.  They say it goes by so fast, and I could see how that's true.  When I went home without her, I was imagining all of the years just flying by and what it would feel like to drop her off at college and go home without her.  Thankfully I have many more years to watch her grow, but this still felt like a big step for me!

Enough of that…guess who is SO ready to be the oldest at home?  This guy...

And I will love having him at home with me until it's his turn to go to school...

Here are a few fun facts about Kaydree -
Favorite color: Purple (lucky for her, her entire kindergarten classroom is decked out in purple)
Favorite food: Pizza and Pickles
Favorite movie: Any Barbie Movie
Best friend in the whole wide world: Lily Brock
Favorite book: Any Dick & Jane book
Favorite toy: Barbies

We love our Kaydree!
