What's there to do in Tyler Texas?

Ryan had a site audit in Tyler, Texas, just a couple of hours away.  He was there for a week and came home for the weekend only to head out to Tyler again for another week.  Since K would start school in just a couple of weeks and our summer was winding down, I was feeling the urge for one last trip.  I did a little research and learned that there are lots of fun things for kids in Tyler that are either cheap or free.  So I loaded up the littles and we headed to Tyler for the week.  We had a blast at the most unlikely places, like the Air Force museum...

Climbing into this plane and playing with the controls was so fun for the kids.
And the Brookshire's World of Wildlife Museum & Country Store...

This fire engine was a big hit with the kids.
We had to get a picture of this old timey book keeper's office for Ry.  The sign says, "Credit makes Enemies, Let's be friends!"
This was on a huge train that the kids got to climb on.
Like father, like son?
Swinging girls with Carv on the tractor in the background.
And the children's museum, it was fabulous...
Carv can't resist climbing into anything with an open mouth for a picture…such a boy!
Ahoy matey!
This part was the best: we dug for fossils in this fake astro-turf-chip dirt stuff.  It was hands on & mess free - a rare combination!
Dress ups!
More dress ups!
"Take my picture by the cow for Grandma!"
I'm so glad we had one last Hoorah for the summer…now to get in the groove for Back to School time.
