Spring 2014

After Spring break, the last bit of spring and the beginning of summer seem to go by really slowly here in Holland.  That's usually a great thing, because the spring is so lovely here.  Sometimes, though, it feels like we are just trudging through until the kids are done with school and we can feel the consistently warmer temps of summer.  Here's how we spent the time:
Playdates & Playgrounds
E&A with Veronique & Joella aka: Nikki & Ella from Dutch school
Waiting for Carver & Kaydree to get out of school
Eating ice cream & wishing for warmer weather
Our fave ice cream shop Capri on Middellandstraat is only open on warm days this time of year
Picnicing & Exploring
A perfect family night at our little lake here in Rotterdam - Kralingse Plas
An evening at Kinderdijk when the Stamps were visiting
Hellos & Goodbyes
A visit from our Texas pals - the Stamps.  Sharon and I had a really nice visit to the Corrie ten Boom house too.
Dinner with the Scheffers who were visiting from Ohio
A day in Amsterdam with my cousin Trent on a layover on his way to Turkey.  We had a fun day at the Anne Frank house & some fun times surprising all the immigrants in our hood when he busted out his nearly fluent Turkish.
Saying goodbye to our Rotterdam besties The Shurtliffs, who we played games with nearly every Friday night for 2 years straight.
Blijberg end of school year activities
Field Day
K's violin recital

Holidays
A low key Father's Day
We spent the day spoiling Dad like we always do!
4th of July manicures for my little patriotic pair
We tried our best, but I guess we just aren't very good at waiting for summer so we had to squeeze in a few more trips before then!
