Library Tuesdays

One of our favorite summer activities is going to the Justin library. It sounds lame, I know, but we love it. Kaydree joined the summer reading club and for every 25 books we read to her she gets a free burger from Whataburger, a cut out with her name on it pinned to the wall, and (her favorite) a prize - sure it's a cheap dollar store toy but she couldn't be happier with it. I've started checking out old movies and musicals that I've never seen and the selection actually isn't too bad (thanks in part to the fact that we still own a VCR). It all started with My Fair Lady, Hello Dolly, and the Audrey Hepburn version of Sabrina, and now we can't get enough. This week we got the triple pack of Romance classics: Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, and Dr. Zhivago. Ryan wouldn't admit it, but he likes them as much as I do! Who needs Netflix when you can go to the library? It's free, air conditioned, and every visit comes complete with a sweet old southern lady handing you your books in an 'I heart my library' bag. Here's a picture of Kaydree and her friend Jovi dancing around barefoot near the books.

I need to get Cameron over to the public library here to do that sort of thing...it sounds like he'd really enjoy it. Aren't old romance classics the best? I just rented Love in the Afternoon with Audrey Hepburn and Gary Cooper or Gary Pooper as Cameron likes to call him. It's pretty good, so if you ever see that one around, I'd check it out. Glad you guys are having a good summer. Happy 4th!
