Old Friends & New Friends

This week, my good friend Elizabeth had a beautiful baby girl that she named Shady. I took the kids out to the nice new Baylor All Saints hospital in Ft Worth for a visit. Shady was so little and so precious and Elizabeth looked amazing for just having had a C-section! I love living around old friends that I grew up with and watching our families grow together. Congratulations Elizabeth and Grady!

Later in the week we got a visit from Ryan's cousins from Florida, Jennifer and Jordan. They were on their way out to Arizona for Jennifer's graduate school (she'll be studying speech pathology). Anyway, we were hoping they would get in about 9pm at the latest so we could hang out, play games, etc. but they ended up leaving later than planned and arrived at our place at 4am! Ryan had to leave for work at 7:00, so he only got to see them for a minute when they got in. Kaydree, Carver, and I were a little luckier...we got to hang out with them for a couple of hours before they hit the road again. Kaydree was really shy at first, she did her typical looking at the ground routine. But by the time the cousins left, she had them wrapped around her little finger, playing with princess and even dancing a little ballet (sorry Jordan, your secret's out). We are so glad they came to visit us!

No post would be complete without some Kaydree-isms, right? She's been saying a lot of new adult-like phrases and they are just so funny to hear coming out of her little kid mouth. I'll ask her if she washed her hands and she shrugs her shoulders and says "sort of." She loves to shrug her shoulders and say "sure" too. Her newest thing is to give me a long explanation for something and then look at me, raise her eyebrows and say "understand?" Yesterday Kaydree asked me at breakfast (like she does every morning) "where we are going today mom?" (instead of where are we going). I told her "we're just going to hang out here today" and she says "WHY??? Are you sick?" Ryan was laughing at me because apparently I've trained her to think that we HAVE to go somewhere every day unless I'm sick or something. She is too funny!

Dear Ryan and Carrie, I still can't copy pictures from your blog. Sorry about the panic and all the typos from my E-mail. I think I accidently errased my E-mail address, I can't seem to get back to it. As soon as I can find some time I will get back with my computer friend and figure things out. The kids are really growing, if Kaydree doesn't look out Carver will catch up to her. Ryan and Carver's trick was great. It reminds me of what Robert used to do with Ryan only a lot wilder. I don't know why I let him do it. I was always very nervous. Sorry for the panic attack. Love, Robyn, Mom, Grandma
